She started her career in a small bonnet shop, advanced to being a sales lady at Macy\'s department store, and from there started her own hat business. Daché was one of the so-called \"Big Three\" New York milliners of her day, the others being John Fredericks and Sally Victor Lilly created her Dachettes line in the 1950s.
