Vintage 1940s Navy Blue Wool Felt Hat Curled Feather and 。What a gorgeous hat from the fabulous forties! The navy felt is created into a rounded cap which sits asymmetrically on the head. The front is adorned with beautiful pink/brown feathers that are protected by navy veiling which does not extend down towards the face.There is a magnificent feather wing across the front, pointing sideways. This is truly a unique design! There is an elastic band attached to the inside of the hat to keep it in place. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. A size label states: LARGE, but the circumference inside the hat measures 23\". Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
